All About Goats
Learn about goats in a fun, hands-on class! This unit study will give a general overview of goats both as wild and domestic animals. Students will not only learn about goats' anatomy, diet, care, and how to milk them, but will also learn about bigger scientific ideas such as ecosystems, adaptability, and symbiotic relationships. Each lesson will include working with live goats to see what they're learning about in action, including potentially milking one of our dairy goats*. This class will take place during the time we are expecting our goats to give birth!
The unit study meets once a week for four weeks. We keep class size around 10 students to make sure everyone has a good experience. This class is recommended for ages 8+ because younger children may struggle with attention span for the hour long lesson. If you have a younger child you think would be interested and not have a problem sitting through an hour long class, you are welcome to sign them up.

*This will depend on when the dairy goats have their babies, as we only milk what the babies are not drinking and the moms don’t share much in the beginning.
